My name is Sage Thomas and I am a birth & postpartum doula supporting woman throughout the South Okanagan. I love being involved in our growing birth community. I am honored and blessed to be invited to attend births, and be welcomed into sacred and special time in my clients lives.

Doulas are an important part of a birth team. Many people are unaware of the many benefits of having a doula present during labor and after the birth (postpartum period). Pregnancy, labor and birth can be an emotional and overwhelming time for the mother to be, father or partner and any other family present. It is important to have someone you can trust and rely on, who can bring calmness, ease your mind and balance out your birthing atmosphere.

The Birth Package:
My fee is $15-20 per hour with a minimum amount of $100, which is the retainer fee and is requested once you decide to hire me. The remaining portion of the fee will be requested after the birth at the follow-up visit.
I believe that every woman should have a doula that wants one, therefore volunteer services may be available.
Arranging doula support early gives you the advantage of the emotional support, information and resources doulas have to offer. I will also be more likely available during your estimated birth time. The more time you have to create a sense of knowledge and confidence in birth, the better your birth experience will be. But even if your birth is just around the corner, don’t hesitate to contact me to inquire about doula support.

- A FREE initial interview to see if I am a good match for your birth (with no obligation)
- 2 prenatal visits where we discuss your birth vision, and prepare for labour & birth
- Unlimited email & phone support to help with any questions or concerns that may arise
- Referrals to prenatal resources in the South Okanagan
- Cloth Diaper 101
- Arrangements with a back-up doula
- 24/7 on-call availability for 2 weeks prior to your "guess date" until the birth
- Continuous support throughout labor and up to a few hours after the birth
- Breastfeeding initiation & support
- Follow-up visit after the birth
The Postpartum Package:
- A FREE initial interview if you are interested in postpartum care only and would like to meet
- At least 1 prenatal visit to discuss your postpartum care needs
- Breastfeeding support after the birth of your baby
- Assistance with newborn care, laundry for baby
- Respite care - take care of baby and/or other children while mom gets some rest
- Light house tidying, meal preparation, errands/grocery shopping, appointment accompanying
- Continuous email & phone support to help with any questions or concerns
- Cloth Diaper 101
- Referrals to postnatal resources within the South Okanagan ( mom groups; breastfeeding cafe, mom & baby yoga)
